Arnie Hansen, President & Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Hansen’s executive duties include establishing corporate direction and market niche. He manages corporate and power project funding activities and contract term negotiation. He has nearly 15 years of experience in power development and execution and was an early leader in initiating distributed generation in Alberta through the company he founded, Nordic Cogen Systems, Inc. Mr. Hansen received the emerging entrepreneur award from University of Calgary in 1993. Mr. Hansen’s motivation in founding NPS Power was to continue with distributed power generation throughout Western Canada as market changes have reflected a renewed interest in smaller site-specific power projects.

Bill Hogue, P. ENG., Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Hogue’s primary responsibilities include providing strategic and operational leadership for power generation development to ensure projects are technically feasible and are aligned with organizational goals and objectives. With over 40 years of experience in the energy industry and additional background in design, construction and operation of novel energy recovery technology processes, Mr. Hogue brings extremely valuable global knowledge and experience to this role. Mr. Hogue recognized the opportunity at NPS where his vast experience would enhance the NPS team’s bench strength in the development and operation of distributed power generation.

Rick Scott, P. Eng., Vice President, Corporate Development

Mr. Scott is responsible for Corporate Development and Administration and assists in Business Development.  He has over 45 years experience in the resource industry which resulted in several business and marketing successes in both North America and Internationally. Mr. Scott brings his interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills to the experienced NPS Leadership Team and is excited to be part of a startup company that is poised to make a significant contribution to the growth of the distributed power generation industry.

Keith Darragh, Vice President, Business Development

Mr. Darragh is responsible for origination and development of energy opportunities. With over 40 years of industry experience, he is now pursuing his goal of building an energy start-up from the ground up. Mr. Darragh is a Marketing professional with an extensive background in the natural gas industry including the successful operation of a natural gas marketing department within a large energy trust company. He has developed an aptitude for originating opportunities, managing over 70 producer accounts that grew from 50,000 mcf per day to 145,000 mcf per day over a 3-4 year period, increasing netbacks and executing marketing strategies while remaining focused on avoiding the risks that are inherent in the industry.

Bert Dryer, P. Eng., Chief Electrical Engineer

Mr. Dreyer ensures that new generator facilities meet the guides and standards for the safe interconnection of distributed energy technologies in a manner that will improve energy efficiency and reduce emissions. He has over 40 years of industry experience and is a previous member of Alberta Distributed Generation Technical Committee, the MicroPower Connect Technical Committee, The Alberta Safety Codes Council Task Force on MicroPower Connect Generation, and both CSA and IEEE standards committees for Interconnecting Distributed Resources with Electric Power Systems. Mr. Dreyer joined the firm with the goal to highly position NPS’ onsite generator design and interconnection requirements for tying of new generation facilities into power systems.
