  • Site is 37.0 km from a three-phase grid connection in a highly sensitive environmental area.
  • Multiple Montney producers associated with the Pembina facility, i.e. Veren, Sinopec, CNRL etc.
  • NPS owns the fuel gas pipeline that is connected to Veren Inc. gas pipeline network.
  • NPS has an adjacent 2.43 ha surface lease which is AUC and EPEA approved for 5.6MW. Ideal for an expanded power plant to serve Pembina plus a data center(s), Ai or an expanded bitcoin operation.
  • Existing gas purchase contracts are in place with Veren. Gas is priced at a discount to AECO.
  • Power generation revenue is paid based on a monthly capacity and energy basis.

Surplus Generators

Jenbacher 1.4MW J420 

NPS is looking to sell one of its surplus Jenbacher JGS 420 power generation packages currently located in Coaldale, Alberta. The JGS 420 power generation package (Unit #2) is currently awaiting completion of its major overhaul. The units were packaged by Gas Drive, a division of Enerflex, in 2015. All the remaining parts and accessories for the overhaul have been purchased and located with the complete power generation unit in Coaldale. A partial list of remaining activities is detailed below.

Skid Improvements, Modifications & Other Information:

Removed all piping and pump on aux circuit that feeds combustion air heater above generator. This same circuit feeds the building heaters, and they are removed as well.

Combustion heater repurposed for additional air movement on “B” Bank. Instead of being directly above generator, it was slid towards “B” bank. Still hanging from roof. This is to direct additional cooling on B Bank safi rails.

Relocated both prelube motor/pump assembly to A Bank

Relocated block heater/pump assembly to B Bank for easier access. Only partially completed on Unit 2.

Removed accumulators on main, and auxiliary coolant systems. A traditional coolant tank for main and auxiliary systems was mounted on the roof. A bypass will have to be programmed into the panel to see coolant level switches instead of coolant pressure. Partially completed.

Accumulators removed. Coolant tank needs to be externally installed on roof.

Relocated batteries to beside the generator on B Bank. This will increase the floor area on both sides to allow easier access for engine work and better air flow. Laid down new grading on both sides of the engine for easy working area. Both Units have battery boxes relocated to beside the generator on B Bank.

New battery cables required to be installed.

Installed a single sheet of aluminum on the main building fans to assist in directing air inside the building.
